چکیده
Aim . To compare the epicardial fat thickness (EFT) in right ventricular anterior wall (RVAW) and left atrial mechanical dispersion (LAMD) hypertensive (HTN) patients without arrhythmias with various types of recurrent fibrillation (AF). Material methods This observational cross-sectional single-center study included 383 HTN, which 251 did not have AF, 61 had paroxysmal, 71 — persistent AF. Echocardiography performed against background sinus rhythm assessed EFT RVAW. In addition, using speckle-tracking echocardiography, LAMD was determined, equal to percentage standard deviation time peak global longitudinal LA strain reservoir phase duration cardiac cycle. Results HTN paroxysmal 6,70 [5,80; 8,00], 8,20 [7,10; 9,93] 8,70 [7,93; 10,0] mm (р<0,0001), 0,72 [0,58; 0,93], 2,87 [2,40; 3,28] 2,67 [2,11; 3,15]% (p<0,0001), respectively. Conclusion RVAW is significantly greater than arrhythmias. while practically does differ.

Dispersion of atrial repolarization in patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation.
UNLABELLED To study the role of the dispersion of atrial repolarization (DAR) in the genesis of atrial fibrillation (AF), monophasic action potentials (MAP) were recorded simultaneously from a catheter at the high lateral right atrium (HLRA) and a catheter moving around the high, middle and low lateral right atrium (RA) the high, anterior and posterior septal RA and the RA appendage in 15 patie...
متن کاملLeft atrial epicardial adiposity and atrial fibrillation.
BACKGROUND Atrial fibrillation (AF) has been linked to inflammatory factors and obesity. Epicardial fat is a source of several inflammatory mediators related to the development of coronary artery disease. We hypothesized that periatrial fat may have a similar role in the development of AF. METHODS AND RESULTS Left atrium (LA) epicardial fat pad thickness was measured in consecutive cardiac CT...
متن کاملLeft Atrial Mechanical Function and Stiffness in Patients with Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation
BACKGROUND Abnormalities in the left atrial (LA) structure and function may develop in patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF). We sought to determine the contribution of LA mechanical function, including LA stiffness, to AF by comparing patients with paroxysmal AF with normal control subjects, and to evaluate whether LA mechanical function and stiffness are related with the structura...
متن کاملAblation of Paroxysmal and Persistent Atrial Fibrillation
Introduction Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common arrhythmia in humans. Its maintenance is thought to be due to multiple wavelets reentry occurring in both atria [1]. Previous studies have demonstrated the feasibility and efficacy of cryoablation to create lesions in both atria [2] and on the posterior wall of the left atrium [3], connecting the four pulmonary veins and the mitral annulu...
متن کاملLeft atrial volume combined with atrial pump function identifies hypertensive patients with a history of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation.
Identifying patients at high risk for the occurrence of atrial fibrillation is one means by which subsequent thromboembolic complications may be prevented. Left atrial enlargement is associated with progression of atrial remodeling, which is a substrate for atrial fibrillation, but impaired atrial pump function is also another aspect of the remodeling. Our objective was to differentiate patient...
